    As my time in Columbus came to an end, I made a daylong excursion to the Civil War prison site at Andersonville, an hour to the east of Fort Benning. The prison site itself consisted of little more than an open field with scattered memorials and other prison key points such as Wirz's Headquarters and the famous Providence Spring, but the guided tour of the site was very informative ...

    ... ie..batten down the hatches!! There was a lull until about midnight - then I proceeded through the night - in what best described as going through a continuous car wash!!...boy did it rain. I kept checking the outside ground to make sure there wasn't some creek rising up to get me!! Still rain this am...but warm again. Enough weather!!...boring-- but we do like to talk about it!!! Moving on - south into Florida today ...where to stay on this Christmas Eve??...somewhere dry I ...

    ... the States and has an award-winning film presentation.

    Outside of the museum is a monument which marks the exact spot where Davis was captured. Still standing near this mark is an old Longleaf Pine which is over 150 years old and was standing at the time of his capture on May 10, 1865. As the Union army advanced on Davis, there were two separate troops (one from Wisconsin and the other from Michigan) ...

    ... easily imagine played the piano in her small country church at home. The preacher, complete with pony tail and long beard, is a biker, wearing jeans and carrying a black leather jacket. There are several people sitting and visiting. More people continue to arrive until the service begins.     ... The third seminar we attended was by Geeks on Tour and they talked about smart phones and tablets and pointed out the good features and how to use them while traveling.
