Martine drove us through the Pyrenées into Spain, this morning. We explored San Sebastián and then had tapas for lunch. It was fun to try out our Spanish. We found a great ice cream shop and also bought some souvenirs. From there, we went back into France and spent some time in Saint Jean de Luz. This town is famous because it is here that Louis XIV married Eugenie of Spain, forming the Peace Treaty of the Pyrenées. Lastly, we went to ...

... There are loads of tapas bars, ceviche (raw fish) bars, pizza places and any other sort of food you can think of. I think the car won't see much action here, and hopefully we can do everything we want to do on foot. In 2 days we have spent lots of time on the beach - the boys have got the knack of body surfing, had a couple of runs, explored the town, done a little bit of shopping and just chilled out. We have got 2 weeks in this place and I think we are going to love ...

We committed to a big, twelve hour travel day to get to Biarritz in time to kick-off the thirtieth birthday celebrations on the official day, Thursday. Charged the same price, we didn't ask any questions. And when we inquired about the location of the local ...

... RA was not kind to us (yet again) as the weather was somewhat cool and cloudy, until the last day ... so what's a girl gonna do when the weather is somewhat inclement? Go shopping of course! Ad boy oh boy did Denise make up for 37 days of deprivation and smell! I find it a most fascinating insight into the female psyche when they are focused simply and solely on " shopping" -- and the many combinations and permutations of clothes ...

Rain in Spain does not always fall on the plain!

... We needed some different food today so we found a pizzeria and enjoyed lasagna and spaghetti. We rested my leg for an hour and then went back onto the boulevard. The rain came in squalls so it was difficult to spend a lot of time walking around in the open. We decided to use our I-pad at a cafe with WIFI to book accommodation in Valencia, our next stop after Madrid.

There were many banners hanging in ...
