... to do it in! Luckily, I already purchased some food at the Cheese Shoppe in Williamsburg as we won't have time to do it here at the airport and airplane food, is well ....you know.

Another trip has come to an end. It was a delight to be able to spend one on one time with my daughter and I wish every parent had the same wonderful opportunity. Thanks to my husband who supported this idea when I approached him ...

I'm most impressed with how the gun was a deciding factor in who took control despite the Indians outnumbering them.

Lunch at cafe there and also returned to Williamsburg's Merchant Square where The Cheese Shoppe is a favorite place to pick up a sandwich, cheese and wine, or cup of coffee.

Evening Tour - A Lantern Tour ...
Jamestown, Virginia, United States barbwengler... see inside some buildings. I think it's worth supporting myself, but after coming from DC where sites are free - some people do resent paying for things. Favorite spots included The Wig Maker and Melissa who is in constant motion - stood for almost half an hour watching the blacksmith. I would like to see more activities for children as many people here are older or school ...
Williamsburg, Virginia, United States barbwenglerAlthough Melissa insisted these people were dead, I still think learning about history is more fun when it comes alive. Hearing the people talk just before me and able to talk to them and ask them questions is the way I wish all kids could learn. Melissa is not impressed although the people we meet try to engage her whenever they can ...
Williamsburg, Virginia, United States barbwengler... host and hostess Fred and Jane. They have a lovely home and provide the best breakfast anywhere and this usually is the highlight of my trip. I love to be waited on and having breakfast waiting there on beautiful china with a pot of fresh brewed coffee - well....it doesn't get much better. I thought of staying somewhere else, but I can't imagine anyplace being more warm and welcoming than that of The Bentley Manor. .
Williamsburg, Virginia, United States barbwengler... River with lovely views to this day. The tombs of Martha and George are on the property.

Drove down the 64 to Williamsburg as Busch Gardens is only open weekends in October and we want to get a full day of rides and fun.

Met some friends for dinner across the street at Food For Thought. They thought my Melissa was "a doll". She is pretty cute and very entertaining.
Williamsburg, Virginia, United States barbwengler... t care to wait for a seat in the Taverns for lunch, so we went back to the hotel and caught the end of the Sunday brunch. It was expensive, a little over $20 a person, but well worth it! The selection and quality of the food was amazing. From pastries and home made donuts, to the carving and omlet stations, it was the best brunch buffet I have ever eaten. Every item we tried we were saying 'mmmmm' and 'yum'. The great seasonal salads ...

Williamsburg, Virginia, United States shree-durga... I saw a cannoneer constructing his tent with a little help. Speaking with the interpretors, I found out they reenact the town occupation only once a year on the weekend before the 4th of July. I spoke to a Major, who is normally an palaeontologist, and a Sergeant Major, who is Hollywood costume designer, who have been supporting this weekend for 33 years straight. I also talked to some Hussein. It was ...
Williamsburg, Virginia, United States ndsquirrel... two wonderful grandchildren, Charles and Ann. How in the world can I be old enough to have two grandchildren?? What was I saying?? Oh, yea. While in Gettysburg we took a horseback tour of the battlefields. Things are pretty much the same now as it was then, with the possible exception of the earphones we had on our heads to hear the narration of what we were looking at. The national park service has done a wonderful job keeping things as original as ...
