Our fist night on a sleeper train ended up being a tad more eventful than it had first seemed. At midnight, we experienced our first proper border crossing and the first change of gauge for the train. As we were leaving Poland, the conductor started shouting something in either Ukrainian or Russian (they seem to be almost interchangeable in Kiev) and the train stopped at a small station. Then about 4-5 guys dressed in military type ...
Update: The trials of yesterday seem a long way off and we are re-charged for a full days walk around historic L'viv. Located on the western side of Ukraine, the City is now looking towards the EEC and has shed it's Russian feel of 10 years ago when we were last here. Still slightly tumble down, they have made huge efforts to restore many Baroque and Neo-Classical buildings.

The food in Sanok is meaty, veeeery meaty. Pretty much whatever you order will have a sausage in it.

... the fire engine is ancient but it got there. Ended up in the main street area which was full of people the reason being that they were celebration their forefathers. What a parade they put on for us marching, dancing and singing we were so lucky to be here when something was on. Spent an hour or 2 in a pub had a few beers and a cheese platter check the photo. Tomorrow at 8.45am we are off to Kiev by a 10 hour trip in the train. Took too long to put videos on the blog so didn’t ...
