Our fist night on a sleeper train ended up being a tad more eventful than it had first seemed. At midnight, we experienced our first proper border crossing and the first change of gauge for the train. As we were leaving Poland, the conductor started shouting something in either Ukrainian or Russian (they seem to be almost interchangeable in Kiev) and the train stopped at a small station. ... the fire engine is ancient but it got there. Ended up in the main street area which was full of people the reason being that they were celebration their forefathers. What a parade they put on for us marching, dancing and singing we were so lucky to be here when something was on. Spent an hour or 2 in a pub had a few beers and a cheese platter check the photo. Tomorrow at 8.45am we are off to Kiev by a 10 hour trip in the train. Took too long to put videos on the blog so didn’t ...
