Our evening's stopover was at Wallingford - a pleasant small town on the Thames. There is a church with an unusual spire, a lovely town hall housing an open market beneath, and a brick and shingle townhouse, now used as the museum. However it is also one of the oldest royal boroughs with a Norman castle held by Queen Matilda which was destroyed eventually in the ...

Another non-planned walk day, but the weather looks too good to miss, so here we are back in Wallingford. The car park is right next to the river so all we need to do is cross the bridge and we are back on track. ... No Exchanges! No Takey Backeys! And no going back to economy class!! next Visa Bill is gonna hurt! I'd best go get a few drinks to soothe the pain!! But don't think for one minute that's gonna be me sitting back, throwing my hands up in the air and taking this lying in one of those Business Class pods on the airplane. NOT! There's a letter just begging to be written. I may not win anything...but it'll definitely make me feel ...

... at major intersections. We zigzagged until we found Wallingford, a quaint old town steeped in history. We had wanted to visit there as we'd been following a murder mystery series called Midsomer Murders which had been filmed in the area, as well as the Agatha Christie series of Miss Marple. But, what we found was much more interesting than film locations. Wallingford is on the Thames River, and it was at this point that ...
