Monday 24th June:
Mark headed out early to pick up the rental car from LAX. I tried out the gym and Tom slept in. He woke feeling much better and well able to tackle another day. We weren't too sure what to do today. San Diego was a choice but at a distance of 2 hrs was just too far to tackle. We thought we might check out 'Downtown' so that was the plan. Our 'Hop On/Hop Off' bus ticket was valid until 11.15 today and the purple bus route ...

they have nothing on their menu. Wells Fargo is a bank, not a
restaurant. Strike Two.
Then, in the distance there is an old
lighted sign with the letters B.B.Q. We get a little closer and written
on the window is 'Traditional American Smokehouse'. Home Run.

... checked in our bags we met Jo and Tim upstairs for some food before having to say goodbye. Was very emotional as we have had the best time and its all down to them - giving us great recommendations, amazing birthday celebrations and basically planning it all for us, plus Jo's sneaky part in getting my engagement ring here!!
