... but with great views of the river and islands. The room was comfortable but the taps in the bathroom were a bit confusing. The hot tap was where the cold tap should be so by deduction the cold tap was where the hot tap should be. This proved to be the case. As well, the taps both turned on in opposite directions. My left hand immediately adjusted to the situation but my right hand found it all very confusing. So I never knew if I was going to have a hot shower or a cold shower ...
... to get a window seat anyway. After the CBD we headed back home via a Factory Outlet shopping centre. Huge selection of good value branded clothing available here ie Levis $56. We took Mike & Carols dog Molly for a walk to the local park when we got back home which was entertaining as we had to wade through knee deep snow, passed a couple of local ice rinks that were covered by about 150mm of fresh snow. No local kids ...

Monday 23/2 - Mat & Peter walked along the foreshore of Lake Ontario toward the city today. A nice day but minus 20 degrees. ... around it, being surrounded by 'normal' Canadians was probably the most Canadian experience I've had so far and I absolutely loved it!
A small update on the weather: so far the temperature has varied betweeen around zero (which is close to tropical for me now, it means that you can actually go outside without gloves for 5 minutes) and -20something (which means that it is a terrible idea to go outside without gloves, a hat, a shawl and preferably some double layers of clothing). ...
... I realized that coming here, I've gotten something that I may not get elsewhere.

The lack of noise and people in my surrounding, gave me peace to reflect.
The lack of activity allow me to slow down everything I am doing, because there's no rush. I enjoyed my full hour of cooking and then another full hour of eating. Being in the moment, my mind opens to the details around me.
