I set my alarm for 7:45 this morning but we had crossed another time zone and my iPad hadn't updated itself so I was nearly late. Luckily I was kind of awake at 8:15 when Nicole called in to see if I'd survived the downpour so I got up. After breakfast we gave them a ride back to the AT.

Today was a great day. Breakfast at the Best Western was perfect, oatmeal, coffee and OJ, all for $2.50. Rt 522 from the hotel to Port Royal was a great 4 lane country road and didn't feel like a highway. Entered Sky Line Drive on the North side. Sky Line Drive/Shenandoah National Park was majestic. The views and twisties, (curves) ...

... halt. I sat there in shock as the manager cleared
the door- livid… and spouting epithets which gently translated to, “Get out of
here and don’t come back again!” We did,
hurriedly… but ever since I am VERY aware of overhead clearances.

Well, the campground is beginning to fill. Think I’ll get a cup of coffee and see if
anyone might need some help setting up….
