... holy/spiritual capital of India Varanasi where they burn their dead on the Ganges, then around central India to Delhi, Taj Mahal, the desert plains of Rajasthan, then up to North west India to Rikishesh where it's apparently more western style spiritual centre of India, and then mountain hill stations and train journeys around places like Shimla and the state of Kashmir before I cross over to Nepal sometime in June... Sounds great and looking forward to starting heading North now... Love to you all ...

... highlights here for me is the Indian coffee house. A red brick tower that looks like a cross between a lighthouse and a pigeon coop with an atmospheric spiraling interior lined with concrete benches and 30 tables and is totally awesome! You have to admire the waiters who work hard keep going up and down here with food, drink and empties stacked high. It is a place stuck in time and the waiters still wear starched white uniforms with peacock style head dresses. The cool thing is ...

We have decided on the short hop (1 hr flight from Colombo to India ) that the code word is '5 star' should either of us feel that the pressure of India is too much for us, and we need to retreat!
