Man, I love birds!
... wanted to see again up close. Sundowners were with all of the other families in a beautifully lit setting out on the plains. The master chef and his staff were out there tonight serving delicacies and there was a full bar set up. We visited with everyone as the sun set on our final day in the African bush and took some pictures to remember the experience. It was a lovely touch by Zulch and the staff of the lodge.

A full day in the bush
... came to a spot where Sylvester spotted some fairly fresh leopard tracks. Alan parked the truck, and he and Sylvester left us to go see if they could tell which direction the leopard had gone. Looking for the "Big 5"
... finally finished, climbed down the tree, and disappeared into the bush. After that we drove around for a few more minutes before heading in for the night. All in all, it was a good first day out. We had seen two of the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and cape buffalo) on our first drive.

Last day in Africa
... the flies for breakfast - yummy! An elephant, 3 giraffe and several zebra turned up to join the party and we sat there for a while enjoying the abundance of wildlife. Someone pointed out what appeared to be a baby elephant between the legs of the large male but on closer inspection we realised it wasn't a trunk between his legs.. I giggled away like a child and even the more mature folk ...

We soon stumbled across the pride of lions we had seen the day before lazing about on a pathway. When looking at the younger lions it’s easy to view them as cute and cuddly as at around 1 year old they are still significantly smaller than the adults and have youthful features and behaviours.
