From the outset Jochen has said that he wanted two clear days in Istanbul and when I pointed out last night at Ordu that we could be there on Saturday afternoon and stay until Tuesday morning there was no stopping him. So1 i thought I would be clever and get up ridiculously early (6:30 AM ) and head straight for the Hamami (bath house) that my new friends had directed me to and shown me how to get there. i left sleeping Thomas a note that he thankfully never saw that said i would be back by 8:30 at the latest. well'''someone pointed to the street going in the opposite direction and a little detour later..2 young helpful women walked me there. The Turkish are wonderful at helping you ...
... five sisters and their mother! Such sweet loving women one and all. after I conveyed that i had found this Hamami across the street but, they wouldn't let me in (men only)...the took it upon themselves to walk me arm in arm down the street an over a bit to a female Hamami and then the trek back to the hotel again...and I could NOT convince them I could find my way back by myself. What a fun time it was...and I now have 5 new Facebook ...

... there… I do miss my wife and kids. But it’s also nice to realize that I’ve got the fire in me to do a much longer trip than what I’ve done. Maybe not the 4 year trip that my fellow traveller Giles did… but a bigger trip than this one.
But now, it’s time to head on back to the pleasant, serene routine of daily life. I get on the bus to enjoy one last 5 star service with refreshments and my own little TV screen… ...
