    ... s a young teacher of English and the classics. We walked and talked with her all the way into Astorga. We walked to the farthest albergue, near the beautiful Cathedral. It was old and simple and slept 100 pilgrims. We headed out quickly to the Plaza Mayor for lunch. We found an "urban" restaurant that even served hot dogs. We had a burrito and quesadilla.     ... West Virginia. Lourdes (our trip leader) mentioned that the town is safe with nice(ish) people. I'm feeling a little nostalgic! I remember walking through Shepherdstown and enjoying the local restaurants, basically what we did here in Valladolid today. It was very nice to see this town!

    Now, it is time to hop back on the bus and drive another couple of hours. Next time we post, we will be in Santander!

    ... to wonder today if I was going mad mainly because people keep looking at me in a strange way when I cycle past with all my luggage and washing hanging of my bike . Then it got me thinking I must have been a bit mad before I left my house ,surely nobody in their right mind would attempt such a challenge on their own especially when they don't speak a word of French , Spanish or Portuguese ! ...
