Camino - D1

Fields of wild poppies, more pilgrims than you can poke a stick at and an entrance to Astorga just as I imagined the Camino to be....spring flowers, old stone walls and medieval town in the background. Stop in Valladolid! (Ashley)

A travel blog entry by em_and_ash9394

Around 10 this morning, we left our hotel and started heading to Santander! After 3 hours of driving, we are taking a pit stop at Valladolid, an older city in Castilla y Leon. Since it is Sunday, it only makes sense that we visited the Cathedral! It was beautiful! Mass was in session, so we stopped in, heard beautiful singing, and then left. Now, we are at El Barque, a café in the Plaza Mayor!

Next time we post, we will be in Santander!

Hasta luego!

We can't seem to crack it in Spain. When we arrived yesterday, it was just as most of the shops were closing although the bars and cafés stay open. Today all the cathedrals and museums are closed. We had planned to go to the Gaudi Museum here but ...
