      Hi everyone!

I have no idea how many people will be reading my blog but I have promised so many of you I will do one and I don't break promises! I still keep getting asked what I am doing and where I'm going so for the last time I'll fill people in before I go. I am first in South Africa, doing law and human rights; I'm there for 12 weeks. Following that I go to Jamaica (yay) for 4 weeks and I ...

Our trip to the UK didn't have a smooth start, as you might expect. We flew from Brisbane to Melbourne to catch a Qantas A380 to Heathrow. As the plane was pushed away from the terminal after loading, we stopped. Apparently there was an issue with some valve, which had become stuck – the valve ran the air-con and started the engines – nothing major, eh? We were hauled off to another terminal to get the engineers to inspect the equipment. About an hour ...

... Germans in World War II. We passed by a few monuments including the tallest free standing column in the world and Cleopatras Needle, which was given to the British by the Egyptians and is over 3000 years old. We crossed over the London Bridige and was able to see the Tower Bridge, which is the iconic bridge of London. We drove through the city for a bit passing all sorts of government buildings and our tour guide explaining everything. I really liked that he was able to give ...

... The food was delicious and we all enjoyed the chance to catch up. It was interesting too, that I was planning this move to the States, while Jenny's planning a move to South Africa to be with Andrew too, so much excitement and adventure!

The London portion of our adventure ended here for now, as the next day we got up really early and packed up the car and got out on the road for the drive up to Ilkley, Yorkshire, for Christmas set up and festivities to commence.
