Capri, an island for small and brave people

The day started with a bus ride to the port of Sorrento down a ling and winding road. After a short Ferry ride to Capri, we transferred to a very small, narrow bus with seats so small that our knees could barely fit. But as we climbed the long, winding, narrow roads to Anacapri, we understood why. When the island was first inhabited, there were 770 steps people had to climb to get there. Our guide Sandro offered us the option of taking the steps instead, but we opted for ...

... by the docks. We had these fantastic cocktails made with frozen limoncello. The price, it was revealed later, was not so fantastic (€14 each). But if we shopped we might have spent more money. Plus our waiter was quite entertaining. He complimented me on my beautiful daughter (I’m starting to get used to that) and when a guy he served a huge 1L beer too was looking at it funny, he said “Is ok? The walk home we both go a little wet as it had started to rain while we were in the restaurant.

But what an awesome day :)

... and hoped a boat out to a quiet little cove and jumped in! Swimming in the Mediterranean was a blast and just way too much fun. 45 minutes seemed like 5 and before we knew it, we were back on the boat headed for the hotel.

After some relaxing and a lemoncello (Italian lemon liqueur), we headed to a local organic farm for dinner. Off the top we got a quick lesson in mozzarella making and then the kids got their hands into the mix and made some of ...

This morning after another wonderful breakfast, we checked out of our hotel and were ready for the next destination - Capri.

Hydrofoils are departing frequently from marina grande, but to get there from our hotel one could either use a taxi or walk. With our small rolling carry-on bags we decided to walk from our hotel to the large fancy hotel across from us in the old town, near that ...
