... floods and devastation. A lot has happened while we've been away but we have been proud of the way our state has rebounded and are moving forward.
We're excited to be getting home tomorrow. We’ve been very fortunate through all our travels and have enjoyed sharing our adventures with our friends and family. We’re glad I wrote the blog because it’s already hard to remember some of the names of places we’ve been!
... the 25th year of the German reunification (1989). They were expecting thousands of people in Frankfurt and we actually ( on Saturday night) watched the major event on the TV. Dinner was at a very small local eatery where we had pork and potatoes ( of course) and wine. We sat at long wooden table with benches..family style. A neighborhood German place full of locals and fun to experience. We returned "home" and settled down for the night.
... YEEUCH! The rain was so bad at times I couldn't see a thing and found myself peering around my screen looking for the white line on the side of the road just to see where we were headed. It was not a comfortable ride at all. As Jude said, we used our imagination on what it would have looked like, especially in the fall. This is a ride I would live to come back and do. We relaxed for the day at Yogi
campground. In the morning Kaitlin bought and coloured a t-shirt.
$8.50 for an hours entertainment and a souvenir. Good deal. We
almost went on a walk. Ben headed out beforehand to follow the sign
we had seen for Mingo Falls. It said 2 miles which seemed doable but
we have had experience walking with our children many times on this
