Wow. We actually made it o to the road by 3...ish....
We joined up with our friend nitesh and made the run for the border!
Good time made in the dark with the excellent support of my copilot at least when she was awake haha

... note, over the same time frame the border patrol posted these numbers for the Laredo crossing;
pot= 6000 lbs
cocaine= 76 lbs
heroin= 71 lbs
meth= 19 lbs

I guess that covers Holy Week activities along the border.

The grackles are setting-up housekeeping, dancing and gathering straw for their nest.

As usual, we stumbled onto our new
favorite restaurant in one of the most unusual places, at a Stripes
Service Station! While I was tanking-up the Taj-Ma-Ford Teena
went in to get a fountain drink, took one look around, came back and
told me to find a parking place for our rig and come in for lunch.
Stripes houses the Taco Factory, a Mexican Deli much in the nature
of a Central American Bus Stop ...
