... people. It is fiction but it is nice to occasionally read about decent and noble people doing difficult jobs and yet enjoying themselves. I'm not a great fan of sweets or pastries. My taste goes, or did go, to the fried, salty snacks until a little event in July last year revised my eating habits, and for the better I might add. However, there was one Viennese delicacy I wanted to try, a cremeschnitten, which is a rich creme slice with light flaky pastry. So sitting at ...
I'm sitting here in a delightful Viennese café, just a stone’s throw from the Opera house which I can see from my window. ... nothing. The atmosphere was strange, lots of big shops and bad cafes. It was pretty clear that Vienna was not for us. We had definitely been spoilt by all our previous destinations, most of all where we had just left at 5 in the morning, Prague!
We filled a few hours with walking around trying to find some kind of tour but in reality everything is a bit out of the way and expensive for interaillers in a budget.
