Waddling out of the Cafe Sacher, we took the bus back to our pension, jumped in the car and drove a few kilometers to a cable car which took us up 7,000 feet to a mountaintop hiking destination, the Untersberg, from which we could look far into the distance and survey the beautiful countryside below. Combining Austrian and Australian culture, we cooked up a BBQ with Austrian sausages and took a midnight swim in the enclosed pool. All great fun and as good a way to start our trip as possible, given the weather.
