Then today was our last day in Faistenau and it was a good day. It mostly stopped snowing and we had something exciting to do! The four hills tournament was on today in Bischofshofen so we drove there. It was only the qualifiers today but it was still really awesome, its a big international competition, though there were no Australian competitors there... This time last year I was sitting on a bus recovering from a night bringing in 2014 in Paris with my Contiki family. I was full of excitement for the adventures up coming and optimism for the year that lay ahead.
This year I am in Salzburg, Austria with my family! Mum and I stayed awake to see in midnight and boy was it worth it. Fireworks are legal for the public to buy and use here, so all night people all around the area ...
... the ski hire place in our little town and asked about hiring skis for me and a snowboard for Ben. It seems like its really cheap here it was only 12 euros to hire for half a day. There are plenty of little ski slopes around here with their own ski lifts which are apparently very cheap to use. There is no big ski resort in this area with lots of slopes, but it seems it will be good for us to pick it up again here because its not so steep. Hopefully we can do that ...
... decent camera between the four of us – the iPhone would have to suffice. Though had we known the bad weather we’d encounter over the next few days, we wouldn’t have been so ******* ourselves.
Combining Austrian and Australian culture, we cooked up a BBQ with Austrian sausages and took a midnight swim in the enclosed pool. All great fun and as good a way to start our trip as possible, given the weather.

... back was basically amazing because the soundtrack was blasting in the tour bus, and everyone was singing to their hearts content. The ladies with Mili and I knew all the words as well, and they knew even the most obscure trivia questions. I have to admit I was really impressed.
Just when I thought I was the biggest fan of all time, our tour guide told us that he once had a lady who bawled the entire tour because she had watched the Sound of Music every day, twice a day, ...
