    ... a beautiful old town on the lake. It was tricky to find somewhere to park but we decided to try the chairlift car park in Obertraun.     ... of the mountain, it gets rough, rocky and steep in parts. So after a few gruelling hours i make it to the hut. Seems i am not alone as there are other hikers here enjoying the stunning views.     We spent the morning at the salt mine. The tour starts with putting coveralls on. We then went on a mini train. If you were taller than 6 feet you have to be careful because there is not much headroom. The tunnels are very narrow. You start the tour by sliding down a 50 foot wooden slide to the mine. They explain how they mine the salt. There use to be a salt water ocean 14 million years ago that evaporated ...

    ... has the nail marks!! And we arrived. Very late in the day but only a day early. The receptionist must have thought we were just mad. Despite my best suggestions of finding a local hotel for the night a spare pitch was found. No real bed :-( So we pitched at warp factor 8.
