... city of Salzburg is like eating a decadent strudel with light vanilla custard ... It's such a classic ! Strewn with fountains, the colours of the city are pastels, light pinks and yellows. While the backdrop is rolling mountains and castle walls. Salzburg is definitely a dessert !!!! ... reached the base of it; no wonder it was never able to have been taken over by force! Also, once on top, it feels like you're in another small village. Apparently when the city would be attacked, the people would take refuge in the fort and live life normally, complete with running water. We were also able to take a tour explaining the history of the fort as well as seeing some incredible views of the city below ...

... it has amazing views of the alps. Before the tour. we went to a cemetery in the city which has mozart's sister buried there. They also have 'catacombs' in the cliff. They are incorrectly called catacombs because no one was buried inside. It was a little eerie inside.bit was pretty much a few caves in the rock that were used as churches. ... and pringles so felt like real Christmas! We finished cooking all the veg and donned onesies (well I did anyway) to walk to Pete and Anna's. We had 11 kiwis in town for Orphan Christmas, Me Jamie, Ian, Anna K, Pete, Anna O, Scott, Scott Not Cousin, Steve, Rich and Alyssa. We all arrived about 12:30pm for a warm up beer and some snacks.
