Then after that excitement I got the funicular up to the fortress and my battery died after 3 photos so they are not very good but it was worth it to get a video of the Pumas.

Now am hoping for some sun tomorrow which is my last day in Salzburg. I wanna see those magnificent mountains.

... bitte'. Big mistake. I will never make that mistake again. That's another €8 lesson learnt. 2. When in Austria, do as the Austrians do and eat apple strudel. 3. The language barrier is much easier to negotiate in Austria as most people can speak english fluently.  4. It is important to dress appropriately for the cold. A shirt and jumper will not provide sufficient warmth when walking across town at night with a slight breeze blowing. I'm sure I will learn ...

... for the first few kilometres, but then we had to start climbing. Today was the day of major hills as we made our way through the Alps. Many times we had to walk because the road was so steep. We worked hard. For me, it was one of the most physically demanding days of my life.

The first part of the day was through farms high up on the slopes of the mountains. Hans explained to me that the fields at or near the tops of the mountains are where the farm animals where taken in ...
