Today was a day to explore Salzburg, which is 35km away, and I thought I would go in because I haven't been there since 1985. After breakfast we caught the local bus outside the hotel into Berchtesgaden (about 20 minutes) where we changed buses for Salzburg (about 45 minutes) and during this bus trip we left Germany for Austria.
