... living in Calgary, and she was about to begin a two year Masters degree in Cartography at the University of Munich. Her partner is a Surveyor with dual German-Canadian citizenship which allows him to work anywhere within the EU. It was a fun ride chatting away and in no time we were in Salzburg. The scenery as we came into was spectacular as we skirted the Bavarian Alps. Our hotel, built on the site of a Roman temple, was first documented in 1342 as a monastery ...

Amazing views on the ascent were capped off with 360 degree view of the Bavarian Alps, Berchtesgaden, Obersalzburg, and Lake Konigsee, followed by a snow storm and white out in the middle of May…!

A travel blog entry by chrisdalton on Mar 01, 2014

Then to the halfway house, too many drinks with locals including the couple who thought we were going to stay with them the night and Rolf the publican. Too many pints too many schnapps and 2 horrible Enzian ...
