I haven't posted in a few days because not that much has happened to write about. On Friday we were going to go skiing but we needed to do some laundry first since places close on weekends. So we headed into Salzburg and found a laundrette which was surprisingly nice and modern. We used the 'wash and dry in one' thing and went for a walk around town while it washed. We found a shopping centre and there was a bridge over the river which had an ...

We decided to go to Mondsee next which is another lake town. It was very pretty as it was surrounded by mountains on all sides. There was one restaurant open there which was right on the lake front and had a lovely view. We had some lunch there and watched the tour busses come through. I'm glad we got a car and can explore in our own time is all I'm going to say about that haha!

Soon the bartender started playing Austrian folk music on the sound system and the boys began standing up and singing along with the music (and the rest of the bar) and providing some dancing of their own. I am sure you had to be there, but it was one of those rare nights when you get to experience the life of the locals. And ...

The Day of the Eagle's Nest

Day trip to the Eagle's Nest!

Built in 1938 as a meeting point for diplomats to the Third Reich, it's now an awesome restaurant at 6,000 feet. Amazing views on the ascent were capped off with 360 degree view of the Bavarian Alps, Berchtesgaden, Obersalzburg, and Lake Konigsee, followed by a snow storm and white out in the middle of May…!
