      ... We were exposed, but the wind had an icy nip to it. Fortuitously, Paul had been given some peach schnapps to drink at the top of the mountain, so we did. Warming from the inside out! Still kept our hands in our pockets though.



      Our walk looped back past Offnerhutte where a new bunch of walkers were being entertained by a singer with an accordian. All very tyrolean.

      ... us being weird). We also put one on for lees oma & grandad. The hotel room was massive!! It has 2 double beds, a single bed and a large desk in the room and there is still room to have a party! We're about 10 mins walk into town past about 20 shoe shops. Austrians must like a good shoe?! Italia bound tomorrow and fingers crossed the weather will stay sunny ...

      ... kept asking about how we would review the accommodation on Tripadvisor - so, we have left our review there. Five stars, and a "Highly recommend" - though if the plum juice stain doesn't come out of my best T-shirt, we might downgrade to four stars!

      ... book had a wide range of hymns from Johann Sebastion and before, right up to the 1990's. We skipped queueing up for the bread but I did say a little prayer for the rain to stop. It was only drizzling when we came out so I am not sure if that counts. The climb up involved some serious stairs but it was well worth the views. The fortifications were destroyed by Napoleon in 180X, ...

      The town has a central old quarter
      which is remarkably preserved. The Holy Roman Emperor had a
      residence here at one stage so the cathedral and many palaces of the
      officials are suitable magnificent. This area, protected by the
      overlooking schloss, survive the 2nd ww bombing but large
      swathes of the surrounding residential area were destroyed.
