... before getting a bit snow blind, we took in both the view and the cold mountain air. A real (pardon the pun) high point in our trip so far.

A cup cup of coffee and a one hour train ride back down to the midpoint on the mountain, we stopped for lunch. Unfortunately we could see little as the clouds had risen and the area was socked in. After lunch we continued down the mountain to the Brendegg train stop and got off to hike the rest of the ...

Lots of fun crossing the snow and walking this section despite soggy feet. An added bonus was seeing several marmots along the trail, including one which waited until Jill got quite close and then ran along the trail in front of us.

here last year with my friend Andy we headed way up a single carriageway road
which lead us into the mountains way above the town and almost right up to the
higher part of a mighty long cableway system and so having seen this cableway
then I decided today I was going to go and explore the mountains of this
        cableway system.

... speed when we were going down a steep hill covered in rocks. My ankle felt a tweak coming off a small boulder at which point I wished I knew some Swiss cuss words and let that llama have it. I used my years of horse handling and after several sharp jerks he got the point. After all he is sure footed and does not wear sandals. Glad I did not have a debilitating strain or God forbid a break, as I am sure they would have to shoot me. Hiking up ...

A quick look around and a refill of the drink bottles and we were ready for the trek back down to the campsite. As ...
