... as close to heaven as I'm likely to ever get! Sat and enjoyed a hot chocolate and some apple strudel until after an hour or so other hikers started dribbling in. Time to go.

The descent was much quicker and the only materially memorable thing is a humorous one. It is described in one of the descent photos.

... wait for customers coming off the train. Jesse and Brett told him only men could drive the bus, not boys. When I talked to him he explained that he was a boy and could not drive. We bought him some ski glasses with a strap for his head and all of us yelled "Dun ta Dah" when he put them on. Now he calls them his "Dun ta Dah" glasses. Will be writing again tonight after a cheese factory and llama trekking.

... knock my head on the sloping ceilings of the chalet we set off on an adventure. We walked for about 20minutes & then not a too strenuous steep gondola ride to a place called Mannlichen high up in the mountains.

... we saw. By the time we reached Lauterbrunnen, we were well above snow level and we quickly jumped on our gondola to go up the mountain. The transportation system really is efficient - one train gets in, your assumed connection is waiting right there and leaves shortly thereafter. The whole second half of that list above (Lauterbrunnen to Murren took less than an hour).
