We were planning to go to Liechtenstein but thought we may as well as it was sort of on our way. It's the worlds 6 smallest country so it would have been rude not to go..haha.

We didn't drive to the main town but to another.. where really there wasn't anything. I did get a photo with the tourist sign though. Had to somehow prove I'd been there!
Liechtenstein, Liechtenstein emmasadventures... me that it was very painful. 'Well that doesn't matter' I replied, 'They are for him!!' Of course the other half of the team was blissfully unaware of his forthcoming pain until the cuffs were snapped on, and the policeman took a good grip on the handcuffs ready for the photo!!
What a coup, we could hardly believe it.

So out of Vaduz, and travelling on to Switzerland.
Vaduz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein dirtyweekendersOur third stop of the day was our first in Austria. Now I was entering undiscovered lands! Feldkirch is right on the Switzerland border. The old town centre is surrounded by towers, and a castle sits on a hill above.

We explored Feldkirch and a few of its towers. The old town is quite charming with its colorful buildings, trickling fountains, and small shops. When we tried to ...
Feldkirch, Austrian Alps, Austria travelingdiva... can't take photos in the library and I can describe in words the beauty of the library sufficiently. Let's just say if you have the chance, go take a look.

It was time for food so we found a little cafe and had a bite to eat before tracking down my parents again. They were hungry because they had been waiting for us before they ate (oops!) so we returned to the same cafe and they had a quick meal before we returned to the car. Next stop: Austria!
St. Gallen, St. Gallen, Switzerland travelingdiva... the trail through the forested area, up switchbacks with short stops at lookouts in small clearings to the city below. It didn't take long to reach the castle. It is closed to the public but sits right next to a public road so I walked along the road to get a good look, then continued along the road up a hill a bit further so I could get a nice view.

I navigated my way back down to the city below and checked out some of the shops ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein travelingdiva... in Thailand and Kanoon had to hang right with her till lockup, and even after to make sure no other suitor got in his two cents. Dogs are like that. But this is a HUMAN; at least I think. Thoroughly disgusted I go get on my bus, which is now waiting at the platform. Then not ten minutes have passed until Vitalis man gets on, too! Vitalis man sits right behind me chewing gum so loudly I can't think. What was he going to ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein hardiekSunday driving from Lucerne to Munich. WOW! The Swiss Alps are AMAZING. Switzerland just became my favorite german speaking country. Lots of little villages with towering mountains in the background. Impressive. Went through the tiny country of Liechtensein. Only about 10 sq. miles. Very cool.
Vaduz, Liechtenstein kenpetersonAfter our day off we next went by train down along the Rhine Valley past the Canton of Appenzelle and the Finance Capital, Vaduz in Leichenstein. Vaduz and the Principality lies high on the side of the mountain which forms the border with Austria. Apart from the distant mountains this part of our journeys was I should say the least striking in scenic wonderment!!
Vaduz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein ankorjuglorwhat can one say about a country that can be walked across in one hour? the day/night in vaduz and schaan. things got off to a not so great start; arrived in good form and time in vaduz and walked to my hostel, only to find out that the reception didn´t open for another two hours, which sucked b/c all the action was a 30 minute walk back from where i came from, and there were no lockers for me to dump my bags. once i was ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein domhnall... in clouds, so we were unable to see the valley below during dinner...too bad. Dinner was excellent. It consisted of appetizers (I’m not a big fan); the main course, which was beef & gravy with noodles and potatoes in a cream sauce, green beans and ham... and (the best part) DESSERT! The dessert table was out of this world...cheeses, plum cake, walnut & shortcake pie, warm plums with ice cream, and (yes!) warm STRUDEL with a cream topping. WOW! Europeans ...
