... bridge which links one side to the other across a deep crevice in the rock, and we saw the moat where they keep bears. Most of the time you think of moats as being full of water, but here there have traditionally been bears to guard the entrance. The first ones were put in the moat in the 1600’s and there are still 3 who live in the moat, although they are rarely seen during the day, preferring to stay under the stone bridge. We did ...
Cesky Krumlov, Bohemia, Czech Republic hachbachhey guys, I actually don't have that much time to write for you today, because we went to Neuschwanstein castle (the disneyland castle) and it was absolutely AMAZING!!! Words cannot describe how good it was and if I start writing about it I may end up going on for pages and pages. I brought A LOT (and I mean a lot) of souviners because I'm only going to be there once and had so much fun (especially on the 4 hour bus ride ...
Schleissheim, Upper Austria, Austria teiganduketis... one point, they have a sign pointing straight ahead that says like 1.5km in this direction there is a man restoring an old ship. There are no binoculars to see the guy or even any more information about why this is significant – strange! Then, there is a point where it says you should now be hearing the rumbling of the crane as it fixes the street down below you. It is an interesting concept – seemingly just pointing out the obvious ...
Linz, Upper Austria, Austria forbes.thompson... he wanted to have a go too, but I patted him and told him it wasn’t worth it.
Everybody in the group turned around to look when this happened and looked a bit shocked, but the girl who was leading us barely even batted an eyelid! So funny!
A few times on the way back Bonza tried to get in front when this other horse stopped, but I pulled him back. As soon as Bonza stepped forward this other horse snarled at him and I had no intention of getting involved in a ...
... in Stansted, London except this time with hail and rain thrown into the mix. We had 5 hours at Stansted - time to catch up on the blog, read and be all blah until the flight from Stansted to Linz. I don't think Stansted to Linz was particularly eventful - nope, nothing. When we got to Linz, the next shuttle to the city left in 50 minutes, but we spoke to a lady and she orgaised a short shuttle to the train station and then a train to the city - this ...
Linz, Upper Austria, Austria fionapurcell... Maybe I should not have drunk so much :P I also met two new people at dinner, a Canadian girl (for whom the weather was mild) and a Brazilian girl (for whom the weather is damn cold! Lol just like me from a hot place) who were very friendly and we caught the tram home together. I don't really remember what transpired then as I was almost in a beer sleep and was lucky to get back to the hotel awake XD The next day we visited the Upper ...
Linz, Upper Austria, Austria noni_matt... Her daughter I can tell is very excited to help me because she can practice her English. First she asks do you want "Michalská or Michalská?". I say I want "Michalská", she says "this is Michalská". I show her the picture of the business card and she exclaims "Ohhhhhhhh Michalská", I replied "Yes Michalská". Turns out there are of course two Michalská's one in the district Prague 4 (where this lady is helping me) and one in Prague 1 (right ...

< br>Český Krumlov was no less beautiful in the daylight and, though it was still cold, the intermittent spells of sunshine and light snow only added to the feeling of stumbling into a European fairytale. The number of other visitors we were sharing the exploration of the town centre with was not particularly high, the shops and restaurants lining the cobbled streets had been commercialised ...
... highway but instead take the scenic route through the hills. It was a lovely day with nice weather, blue skies and white clouds. Main destination today was Eberstein, where I used to spend my summer holidays during 12 consecutive years (starting when I was 6) together with my grandparents. It was some kind of trip down memory lane, because the closer we came to Eberstein, the more I recognized ...
Linz, Austria thorgal67... dudes managing it. The beds are really comfortable, the kitchen is small but ok. The bathrooms are clean but the toilet paper keeps running out and there is only two showers for the whole floor. They have a darts board and a ping pong table outside and run things like rafting and such. The worst thing is that you can smoke anywhere downstairs. We had to vacate the kitchen one night because the smoke was too think (Yes! Even Joey has started to hate this smell!!!) All in all a good hostel.
