Our second home exchange was in southern Bavaria about 125 kilometres from Munich for 2 weeks. Penny joined us in a large house set in an equally large wooded garden. Pfarrkirchen and other towns in the region are really nice, Passau being my favourite. The buildings are mostly painted pastel colours.

We said that must be tough, but she said she is used to it and has been working away from home for the last 7years, firstly on Ocean liners, ...

... through beautiful countryside bounded by hills. A very pretty landscape. The crops remained the same. There will be a glut of corn this spring, so I am predicting that corn will be cheap!

We passed through a number of little towns, three adjacent towns were very interesting as they were each protected by a levee bank. Not just the Roma variety manufactured from soil. These were creations of soil with rock ...

... veg... Most of them looked like the dodgy kidnappers from Taken 2 :) After 50+ kms of cycling we finally reach Linz, the capital of upper Austria. It is after 7pm and the river banks are still packed with groups of bare chested bocce players, many friends and couples relaxing and tanning beside the Danube. Some are swimming/drowning against the strong current, others are jogging, cycling, listening to music, reading.. One lady is just sitting by the river with ...
