Today was another day where plans fell through, Brendan nearly died and we ended up freezing at a bus stop in the middle of nowhere- but not all was lost.

Yes... we finally made it to the highlight of the trip for Eamon...... The Sound of Music tour :)We spent this afternoon touring round Salzburg in a mini-bus with 6 Americans and David our tour leader, visiting key buildings and film spots from the film, whilst in between times singing along with the sound track.....E loved it as you can imagine :) Seriously though... I think I heard a "bright copper kettles and warm ...

... movie that afternoon.

The next day I joined a Sound of Music tour which was great fun. On this tour we got to see the gazebo where Liesel and Rolf sing 16 going on 17, the 2 houses which were used for the movie, the lake which the children fell in during canoeing scene and the abbey. ... Fortress Hohensalzburg is looking down on us from atop the Festungberg, and we hope to get the opportunity to visit tomorrow morning. We descend the hill via a stairway, taking us through tiny little alleyways and giving us a different view of Salzburg from between buildings. By the time we have reached the river, the early morning cloud has burnt off and the sun is shining once more. It's going to be another lovely day here in Salzburg!

... in our wandering so that helped with the disappointment!
Back in the old town we came across another large Christmas market with everyone standing around drinking Gluhwein. I myself think it's an acquired taste.

With the chill factor dropping and dusk drawing in we decided to be like the old riding club horses and head for home.

Tomorrow, it's off to London town to see the beautiful Andie. Woo hoo
