... and had AuerBrau Helles from Rosenheim
Saturday was pretty overcast and not looking good for our planned hike up into the mountains. But apparently it was sunny up top above the cloud line so we decided to go as we wouldn't get another opportunity.
Drove out into the Alps and started at a point about 900m above sea level.
Hiked to the top of Wendelstein mountain which is 1838m above sea level. Weather was beautiful on ...
... a fun night at a table with some locals who taught us the traditional songs and ways of the festival. It was awesome! We gorged ourselves with pork sandwiches and wurst at the end of the night, but the fun did not stop there. We headed back for a midnight snack and birthday cake for Jana at the hotel. We enjoyed some baby burgers, onion rings, fries and chicken wings at the "American Grill" at the Hotel...YUM! Paul ...
Munich, Bavaria, Germany laytonandjana... or less! Even regular food was very reasonable, not more than 8-9 euro at a nice restaurant. Compared to France, that's a steal at a nice place. 4. Fussen and the "Disney" castle. We took a train to Fussen and saw Neuschwanstein, or the castle that the Disney castle is modeled after. It's located halfway up a mountain, and it's really amazing. I didn't realize that Germany had such nice mountains so close to Munich. 3. Beer gardens (again). So ...
Munich, Bavaria, Germany jvsaethang... food (at least mine) was not worth the price. I still can't get over paying 2.90 for a tiny bottle of carbonated water. I just wanted tap water, but as usual, the restaurant doesn't offer free water. We sat around the bar, I didn't get anything because I was still sulking about my dinner. When we got back to the hostel, the 4 girls we share the room with were all sleeping already. I figured ...
Munich, Bavaria, Germany lmk... hence why they can drink a LOT of beer, eat loads of chocolate, and pack away the cheese and not get fat.) Anyway, Romi had been telling me about these bikes that you see on the street that you can just pick up, call a number, rent them for 15 minutes or however long you want, and then just drop them off on the street somewhere when you're done with them. You don't lock them or anything. You just prop them up against a pole ...
Munich, Germany friskycLake Chiemsee is Bavaria's biggest lake, also known as the Bavarian Sea. The Herreninsel, Fraueninsel and Krautinsel islands lie close together in the calm waters. This composition, with its colours and lighting, almost looks too perfect. At 2.4 square kilometres, Herrenchiemsee is the largest of the islands ...
Rosenheim, Germany shadek... walk and the taxi took over 10 minutes to get us back. It seemed odd but I couldn't argue, all I knew was that we passed a lot of streets I had not seen on the way. It was also raining at the time and we really did not want to walk. We picked up our bags which we had left in a locker at a train station (I LOVE LOCKERS!!!) and we waited for our train. The train ride was uneventful again but I did take a picture of our speed which was 250 km/hr which ...
Munich, Germany romero... Munich because she was catering a function on the 15th floor of the Hilton Hotel. She came home absolutely exhausted at around 5.30 thismorning.
Just to let everyone know there is actually a 10 hour difference in time between here and Australia. Ihope that you all had a wonderful New Years eve. How did Brendan´s party and recovery day go? Scotty, what did you do for New Years? I wasn´t really sure...
I am missing you all already.

... was certainly cheap. However, our reservation said "double bed" in the smaller tent (that holds about sixty people), when in reality we slept on bunk beds...no big deal though. Unpacked, dried off, and ready to see Munich, we got back on the tram and rode downtown to see what sort of trouble we could find. Upon our Lonely Planet Europe on a Shoestring guide's advice, we made our way to the Pinakotek der Modern museum, which contains displays on architecture as well as art. Models of ...
Munich, Germany jmdevine... It even has a picture of the room I stayed in. Appartement-Haus am Moosanger http://www.kurbad-moosanger.de/start.ht m They have a sauna, steam room and pool and specialise in mud baths. I found a true friend at last! Solar energy is big in this country. They clad their houses in the stuff. It would only get nicked if you did it in the UK! Painted your house is a big thing Fussen town centre ...
