I got off for a photo at the Leopoldskron Palace that was used to shoot the scenes of the movie on the lake, like where they capsized the boat. Then I took the bus to the Hellbrunn Palace where the scenes of the villa and the gazebo were shot. ...

... to such fine detail.....statues at every turn, elaborate fountains, fresco paintings, etc.. Well, the money came from salt, yes, good honest sodium chloride! The river Salzach runs through Salzburg....guess what Salz is in English....correct! Salz is salt.

Salt was once described as “White Gold” and it is a fact that the salt mines at Hallein, 29km out of Salzburg were the treasure trove of the region. More than 2,500 years ...
