... to Koenigstein. We found the Fusten Express to go up there for 3 euros per person. We didn't buy the return ticket...

We took an open top bus first then a little red train. The entrance fee for the fortress was 8 euros per person. It used a big lift that can fit 60 people or a car. The towers and fortress weren't too impressive. I grew tired listening to the audio guide :P The view was amazing. ...

... more than in the UK
Marksberg castle just outside Koblenz is 800 years old and has never been conquered or destroyed. It is therefore a rare example of a complete medieval castle with all its original features. It is quite a walk up to the castle over uneven ground so good walking shoes are required. Inside there are multiple rooms showing how people lived in the middle ages with a kitchen, bedroom, dining room, wine cellar and even a torture room. As usual the guide who took ...

Cut my day a bit short yesterday, because of bad weather. Stopped just short of Goerliz.
120 km, through wet and slippery bikeways, crossing the "Saxon Schweiz", very challenging!
It is 6am now, will have breakfast, the weather looks good, will leave towards Wroclaw Poland, was formerly under German rule called "Breslau ...
