Rugs, house interiors, altars were beautiful and well displayed..again protected from military destruction in Syria.Much must have been hidden away during WW2 from allied bombing and some has been repatriated to Russia?!Massive granite lions etc. would have required cranes to move them. Had forgotten to buy some souvenirs but there are many shops at the Hauptbahnof so fortunately it was not hard to find ...

When we went to explore the city we noticed the area where they let off the 8,000 balloons along where the wall use to exist. We planned to do a 3 hour walking tomorrow so today we were checking out the dome and I also got tickets at night for an opera ...

... North Sea. We also threw the pebbles from St Bees out into the ocean. Mission accomplished, we retired to Wainwright's Bar, at the Bay Hotel, where the Badger kindly bought some French champagne to celebrate. Nice! We were a bit disappointed that there wasn't the usual noisy celebratory crowd in the bar and had decided to leave for dinner up the hill, when Jane drove up to say the others had arrived and were on their way down. Sure enough Gary, Jenny, Heather and another guy Bob ...
