... Gruyeres which is famous for its cheese or so we thought. The village itself is a collection of old buildings full of souvenirs with lots of cow bells and cow emblazoned mugs, t-shirts and more. Not much cheese to be had which we thought was pretty strange. However there were plenty of tourists so after a quick visit we headed to our next destination. We decide to alter our plans, instead of lunch at Bregenz we might have it at Lindau. While waiting for the ferry, we had an ice cream as it was very very warm. The trip to Lindau only takes 30 min and it is in Germany. The island( joined by a bridge) ...

... around the northern part of the lake wasn't as pretty as it had been further south, but Konstanz itself was a nice place to visit.

We started by climbing the tower of the Munster for a view, then crossed the river to visit the Archaeological Museum - mostly in German, but very interesting nonetheless. I do wish we could have read more of the exhibits, which seemed to give lots of information about Stone and Bronze ...
