... 5pm we decided to do a bit of sightseeing. Syd suggested that wd go to the Festspielhaus first as it was "just past the bahnhof". In fact it took 30mins each way as part of the of the map we had used had elided part of the road. By the time we had got back to the Altstadt Val was feeling the heat and returned to our room whilst Syd went on to take some pictures in the Altstadt. ... is just on the edge of the Altstadt. Although Booking.com said that reception was open from 2pm to 9pm the opening hours on the hotel doors had a gap between 2pm and 5pm, this was because the reception was at the bar of a Greek Restaurant that was closed in the afternoon.

There we were with our bikes and luggage at 3pm with 2 hours to wait - unimpressed is what we were. We did not fancy pushing our bikes aroung Bayreuth in the afternoon ...

... this what some people call a holiday? But Emma's tranquil viewing is about to be shattered. At the very least it is time to wander down the hill for coffee and sight seeing. And so we have returned having bought a small carry on to shift some weight to and hopefully make the train travelling easier.
