We made it. So, it turns out that the train from Milan to Linthal is not so direct. We booked the 0710 train to Zurich, thinking that we'd rather get up early and get to Linthal than sleep in Milan. Our train would have gone to Zurich, where we would have switched trains to head SW and eventually switched again to head south to Linthal.
