Heidiland Yesterday, we had a later start to the day as did the 3rd tour, to the Heidiland region which commenced at 11am and returned at 7pm. Our guide Marcello is a lovely older, slightly rounded Swiss gent and asked each one of us what our nationality was as we boarded. While Marcello is a tour guide now in his semi retirement, he did the mandatory military service as a young man and then completed his chef apprenticeship which was his main career for 45 years. Lake Constance/Bodensee is clearly still in peak holiday
season and will remain so until the second week of September. German kids go
back to school around 10 September and this huge lake seems to be the nearest
seaside resort for the whole of south Germany. Therefore the area is very busy
with family holidaymakers.
Decided to move on, away from Bodensee and into Austria.
