This week the first wintery Cold front passed true Switzerland and dumped up 70 cm show in some Areas. ... on the trail. That also meant we didn't have to share a room with strangers.
The hike through the Larch and pine forests to Saosea Lake took about three hours. As we sat by the lake the few clouds lifted and revealed the snow speckled mountains around us. Just beautiful.
Next day we made our way back to the car and headed to Pontresina. This was a very special day hike to the place where Katharina and Christoph were married. The path follows ...

This tiny country is most famous for selling postage stamps, and the fact that almost every European tour operator includes a few minutes here so they can boast of another country visited. ... Ricken Pass with a wonderful panoramic view of the Alps to reach Toggenburg with it's rolling green landscape. We then travelled on to Vaduz, the capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein and the 3rd smallest principality in all of Europe, smallest being Monaco then San Marino.
