... rooms, clean lawns to sleep on and steps to get in and out of the river. Swimming in the Rhine generally takes the form of.....walk up river for 500 meters, jump in then drift down river for about a km then repeat. A really relaxing way to cool off on a hot summers day.

... which we took time out to visit. Very old and fortish if I might say.

It was good to see that there are a lot of fish in the Rhine and we saw them swimming in shoals all along the route.

&0 kms later, suffering from sore bums we arrived back in camp for a quick swim and a chicken curry.

All in all a pleasant relaxing ...

From here we headed back to camp where we once again swam in the Rhine. Later on we were joined by Corinne's sister in law, Regula, who kindly offered to take us out for supper at the campsite's restaurant where most of had Thai Curry which was really delicious.

A few beers, a lot of good catch up conversation followed by bed made for a great day.

trees, clacking their huge beaks like they were faintly annoyed at something.
We cycled along the lake side and stopped for lunch at Meersburg where the ferries go across to Konstanz. The town of Meersburg is very pretty and dominated by a large schloss. We continued along the lakeside for a while longer to Hagnau and then headed north through
more vineyards and back to the campsite. It was getting very hot by this point
