    ... buskers.. They were pretty average - nothing amazing. We then bought come crêpes and ate them - bit even they were quite expensive! After that we decided we would try the other part of the carnival to see if there was anything more interesting, but unfortunately not. Slowly we walked to the bus stop and caught the bus back to the city and walked back to Lara's house where we had a few drinks before retiring to bed! What an eventful day!     We bid a fond farewell to Juliette and JP and then, for the first time since leaving Nantes on 30 April we headed off without using pedal power to journey on. Our bikes took a well earned rest on a train from Constance to Zurich and considering the heat wave is still with us they, and we, were glad to get there without expending any energy.

    ... helps that there's not so many cars. If the system works people will use it. There's also a big usage of bikes.
    We purchased an all day ticket for about 8 dollars. We used it to explore the city. We visited the old town, swam in the lake, went to the history museum and strolled around Zurich West which is a lot like the old industrial areas around Pyrmont and Redfern that are being converted to other uses. There's plenty of bars, restaurants, gyms, design ...

    ... with old buildings, quaint little shops and cobbled streets. It’s very busy at night with lots of people wandering around. There are plenty of bars and restaurants here, many people still smoke in Europe and they are banished to the outside tables.
