After 2 days in Munich, we meandered south towards Austria. We stopped at the summer palace, Linderhof Castle, built by "mad, King Ludwig" where it began to snow, the first of the season. Hard to believe it started so late in the Bavarian mountains. It was a small palace, but extremely ornate and extravagant.
Our lunch stop was in the small town of Oberammergau, famous for its performance of the Passion Play done every 10 years. It was charming and a ...

As I make my way along this make-shift road I see a truck with about 20
cars coming towards me which gives me hope that the roads open.
Finally there ahead of me is a long queue of traffic and all standing
waiting at a set of ...

The Dream Castle!

... it stopped so abruptly with the construction. We had some time to walk around the city, and make our way back down the hill. This time, we took a horse and carriage ride back down from the castle. It was a different route than the bus we took on the way up, and it was quite nice when enjoyed with our mulled wine we picked up along the way! :) We then took the train back to Munich, and before long, the day was almost finished! It was such an amazing day. I had always ...
