... we were so happy. I was a chicken. At school Mr L at his class at each table there was a plate with chocolate on it with a fork and a knife and a hat and napkin. There was a dice and if you rolled a 6 you had to put the hat on and tuck the napkin in your shirt and cut a piece of chocolate and eat it. My friend Jessica had a Halloween party at her house and it was fun because she had 2 trampolines. Jessica was a pirate. Jessica's little brother Oscar was Superman. The swim meet ...

... for a walking tour of a very pretty Innsbruck (our hotel is in the center of town). While we obviously enjoyed the sights of Italy, it was great to be in the mountains again and see Bavarian (in this case Tyrolean) architecture.

We were supposed to take the cable cars and cog wheel train to Alpspix and Zugspitz for Adrian's birthday but it snowed overnight and both mountains were covered in cloud. We had to come up with a plan B and found the very pretty town of Mittenwald was close by. The buildings in this part of Bavaria are painted with murals which is quite different to other areas. We spent time wandering the streets and spending some tourist euros. We also found a good bakery/cafe and indulged ...

... is still owned by the family so not part of my Bavaria Castle Pass. You can buy a seperate or combo ticket to enter, which I could have done with so much time.

At the foot of both castles is also a large lake, the Alpsee. It reminded me of Heaven Lake in Xinjiang China with its mountain valley setting.
