We used our linguistic handicap to our advantage, and staged a wonderful parody of "Dude, where's my car" about two Indian dudes who take a cruise to Rīga and end up in Mangaļsala. For some reason, I ended up having to say our assigned line, but I think I delivered it with gusto and passion!
The Bonte Avond was really nicely done. Only some torches and a camp fire lighted the stage ...
... br> Made it out of Riga to a town not too far away called Sigulda as the area supposedly has a number of places of interest around it. Found it, a pretty place with a few castles, sculptures and caves etc. So we did our usual wander but not as striking as most other places we had been. The castle at Turaida was the most interesting, with its gardens and stories. Visited a famous cave which turned out to be no more than a big indent in a cliff face. ...
... a 200m ski slope and a bob sled course. In summer, you can enjoy some lovely hiking trails, leading past many interesting castles and caves. Luis first took us to the ruin of the castle of the Livonian order, which is right in the backyard of the New Castle (18th century), and overlooks the valley of the river Gauja (yes, Antonio, this is what they call a valley).

you) so I had to pay an extra $50 just to be able to check my one bag
with only 44 pounds of allowance.
BAH! I'm just going to brush it off, because bright and early tomorrow morning,
I fly to Amsterdam.

The initial problem was that nobody at the hostel had heard of this beach. We asked around to a few locals who also looked perplexed and by the time we finally figured out which train station / platform we had to take, the woman at the desk stared as if we didn't know what we were letting ourselves in for. She was correct, beyond a few grainy google images, we were clueless.
