    ... It makes for a very pretty view from the canal.

    We also went to the Cathedral of Notre Dame which was breathtaking. The outside is so detailed, I can't imagine how long it took to build it up. The inside was also very pretty but the best part was climbing to the top to look out over the whole city. The climb was very tiring and steep but coming back down was even scarier, I thought I was going to fall down all 600 steps!

    ... was lunch time, we ate and then went to explore. Part of the town is called little Venice, the narrow canals run around the tall timbered buildings, on Tanners street the houses were 7 stories high with open balconies on the top floor for drying the hides. A canal runs along the front if the houses to supply water for tanning. Close by there was ornate market hall.
