Howdy folks,

Because Easter Monday was a public holiday, Steffie and I drove to Neckarsteinach and parked the car at the finish line of the second stage of the Neckarsteig. We caught the train 4 minutes back to Neckargemünd to start the trail, but it would take several hours to make it back to the car! Having said that, if we had missed the train, it would have been an hour wait for the next one!

... visited the Technical a Museum of Speyer, which would be a fabulous place for children and was quite busy today, being the Easter Monday holiday. There are thousands of exhibits from the history of technology. There are aircraft including a Boeing 747 where you can walk out on the wings, a Concorde, helicopters, a Russian Antanov cargo plane and lots of other planes you can walk through. It is sort of hard to imagine that going for a swim in the river to wash yourself would be a wild event that would be so dangerous! I particularly like the word Baderei. In German you can add -erei to the end of a word to associate it with that verb like Bäckerei (bakery), Schlägerei (punch up) or ...

Saturday morning started with us accompanying Angelika & Karl on one of their favorite pastimes, shopping at the flea market. They drove us about 15 minutes to a huge market setup in a shopping center parking lot and encouraged us to look around.
