After 2 days in Munich, we meandered south towards Austria. We stopped at the summer palace, Linderhof Castle, built by "mad, King Ludwig" where it began to snow, the first of the season. Hard to believe it started so late in the Bavarian mountains. It was a small palace, but extremely ornate and extravagant.
Our lunch stop was in the small town of Oberammergau, famous for its performance of the Passion Play done every 10 years. It was charming and a ...

The markets are filled with Christmas stuff and lots of other things from sparkly jewelery to wooden toys for both kids and pets. The car is parked until we leave on Thursday.

come from. at least here most of the time you can trust the oncoming cars to
stay put behind each other and not overtake just whenever they feel like
      it.
Onwards passed the town of Seefeld and its great twisty roads for mile
after mile. I pass through the little railway town with the loco preserved in
the street to which I forget its name and simply continue onwards until I get
fed up and want a hotel.

... we were going so we set off. It was quite chilly that morning and it seemed to get colder and colder as we walked for what seemed like ages towards this laundry place. Several times along the way Bree asked me if I was sure I knew where I was going and if there really wasn’t any close options other than this one clear on the other side of town? Unfortunately I was not sure at that point but we had come to far to turn around so we charged ahead. Luckily we did ...
