Our descent was steep to start with, but then became a lovely rolling downhill through villages and green pastures, all the way down to the small town of Saint-Girons. 82km (51 ...

I got to Ribes in the evening, found the station and managed to get a timetable. The local council didn’t mind campers in the Sports centre car park so that’s where I happily stayed for two nights. The train was a fabulous experience, it started off fairly tamely as we made our way up ...

Today was our Tour Leaders birthday - 28 - and she celebrated by taking Sue and I, and one of the other girls in our group, Kristin, on a hike through the Pyranees. We set off up a very steep track leading up from the Luchon Cemetary and for the next one hour and a half it was straight up. It was a very hot day and it wasn't long before our clothes were saturated with perspiration and our water bottles were fast approaching empty.
