    ... be with a van.

In complete contrast to Andorra, I have now come to what has been the most beautiful natural area I have seen so far in my life. Thanks indeed to Holly for it was she who gave me the guide book in which I found it. It’s called the (are you ready for it..) Parc Nacional D’Aiguestortes I Estany de Sant Maurici. It’s in Catalonia and fairly central in the Pyrenees and it is an absolute gem. No traffic, not even mountain bikes ...

We departed Les around 8:45, with the riders breaking into the regular groups, so once again Lori, Peter and I cycled together, bumping into Dave,Linda and Tom a couple of times. The first 12 Kms were downhill, which while a delightful way to ride, meant that we were going to have to recover that height at some point. The sign at the bottom said that it was a 9% average grade, but those with computers advise that a good part of it was well over ten. We then ...

DAY 8/June 21: Les, Spain to Oust

... it up a bit and they did. The usual early starters started early. Gilles needed a hand getting his rear wheel back on (the chain was twisted) after fixing a flat, and Dave, Linda and I pushed off last shortly after 9:30am. It was going to be another hot day.

It was a fast downhill run to St-Beat where we started the first climb of the day to Col de Mente. A long-ish climb with moderate grades had me sweating but I didn't mind one ...
