Soooooo many grapes, no wonder local wine is cheap here. 2. The number of castles - if there is a flat or even a small ridge or shelf up high there is a castle on it!! ... mountain chalet to old Italian. We decided that as we had walked down all the way we should catch a bus back to Pergine to explore. We now realise that everything shuts for lunch here from about 12.30 to 4pm. We arrived in Pergine after going around the larger lake by bus and - with everything shut - we went into a grocery shop and bought cheese, crackers, olive caper paste and roasted zucchinis. We spent one week in this cosy and special hotel. We planned every evening with the owner of the hotel where to hike the day after. And every time it was a special experience. We saw a lot of mountain lakes, deers, flowers and the owner one time came with us explaining all about the area: history, geography and bothanic. ... and walked into the main part of the town. We found a restaurant along the water and had simple pizza and pasta for lunch.
