Today's tour was to Bolzano, close to the Austrian border. We arrived there late in the morning, stopping for a quick espresso at a truck stop - it's hard to get used to doing things the Italian Way when you have to pay for what you want first, then go and join the queue to get served! ... to outer space, real air head. At the top is tourist mecca to all things white and Austrian. There is a souvenir supermarket. It is so steep on the way down we need to use 1st gear. And the insane cyclists keep coming up, it's steep,it freezing and why would you do it???

We left Innsbruck on....umm...what's today..? ...I think it's Saturday 23rd, so it must have been Friday 22nd I think.
We have been trying to stay ahead of the rear-guard onslaught from a horde of German holiday-makers who began their holidays yesterday afternoon, amid a national train strike....
Anyway, we headed out over the Brenner Pass after checking to see that it was open as they had closed it due to snow 2days ...
