... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
Only downside is having to wait until 7 till the restaurants open. Not easy for two gluttons like us. Had a rubbish meal first night too which is enough to put us in a bad mood for about a week. Italy almost done. ...

Once the tour finished, we went to a restaurant, where the whole evening was based of the wine selection and not the food. By this time it was 9.30pm, and we were ready to eat anything. ... no wind and sound was carrying for miles. Eventually we heard the unmistakable sound of cow bells and passed by a number of them doing their thing. They were on very steep ground, country that I doubt a kiwi farmer would even bother putting into pines let alone having stock. The breed wasn't one I recognised but sometime in the past they must have received a goat gene. What a great day it has been. We have seen some wonderful country thanks to Lia. The two hour walk wasn't too bad ...

... we became lost (as per usual) and found a map on the back of a bus stop that would eventually light the way to our destination! The streets seemed to go on forever but we bumped into a couple from Pennsylvania who happened to be looking for the same place and walked behind them until we had made our way to the Santa Maria. Naturally, this was after I had tried to speak Italian to a non-Italian speaking tourist in the hopes that he would give us a ...
