St Christina to Cortina 14-11-12
After a poor night sleep in St Christina I got up at 8am and looked out the window. It looked extremely cold outside and frost was lying all around. I wonder how my poor bike has coped with this weather, I thought.
Boxes all packed and a quick check over the bike it's into the coffee shop for a cuppa and then off up the road to explore the mountains.

... been gritted but water flowing across the road had washed all the grit away and was now freezing over and made it extremely dangerous for me. Extreme gentle handling of the bike was the only solution!!
Finally I reach the summit of the pass and not long after enter the town of Vermiglio (I think) where there is loads going on. The cable car is running taking skiers to the top of the surrounding mountains and the whole town just seems alive with people. I stop here for a cuppa ...

A fantasia journy
