Afterwards, we would have the best part of several hours to drive South to San Antonio and rendezvous with our 8 o'clock morning flight to The Big Apple. The well rehearsed opening scenes of Act III were about to begin. We held one another's hand, excited. The theatre was hushed. House lights dimmed. The curtain began to raise. Ribeye for me with a Texas red wine, while Paul settled for steak and shrimp. As always the service was great, with Tom starting Officer Candidate training in June.

Then back home for gin and tonic..
