... couple of beers at a sidewalk café. Beer is cheap here - 2 large beers came to about $3.50US. After resting we went out to find some dinner. We found a series of outdoor restaurants and decided to eat at the busiest one - good choice. It was the Café Vian and the food, service (Peter) and price were wonderful. We decided to go with local Hungarian ...

The tour continued by taking us to the Opera House, Parliament, Freedom Square (which holds one of the few remaining Soviet monuments and a statue of Ronald Reagan), and ended at Saint Stephen's Basilica. As part of our tour with Andras Torok, we took this historic tram no. 2 as an easy way to see Budapest. The system runs along the Pest side of the city along the Danube River. The views are great and the tram stops along many of the must see tourist spots (Parliament, Market Hall). This tram has another claim to fame as one of National Geographic's top 10 trolley rides.

It was down this arch way that was basically just a footpath with bars on either side and little lanes coming off it we loved the vibe and thought it was a little bit like ponsonby in auckland. Overall we loved the vibe in Hungary. It was a beautiful city, the currency was a bit strange with $200 coins and $20,000 notes etc but the city was great we would definitely come back if we ...

... hill. After a half an hour climb, we reached the top, where the view was definitely not worth the climb. Feeling extremely beat down, we went out for our traditional Hungarian dinner which was surprisingly good. We still arent sure what the main dish was but it was some kind of meat and flour/egg mixture.

Saturday night we went to a club called Innocent and overall it was a decent night. It was extremely hot and crowded but the exchange students ...
